The seven stages of hocomania
After more than a year, this hocomania life cycle still seems to hold up pretty well, but there is room for refinement as we continue to learn more with each passing hocolarious day.

. . . Over a period of time on these boards, you can observe hocus' behavior over and over again.
1) He writes passionate descriptions of how to come to grips with the personal aspects of life-money balance and begins to get some accolades from a few readers. Many of these posts are inspiring to some readers and lead them to believe that hocus might hold useful knowledge or valuable wisdom.
2)He then moves on to imply that he has some earth-shattering information about SWR or has an "SWR tool" that is critical for all ERs. Failure to use his tool or listen to his message is likely to cause you great pain and failure in retirement.
3)At that point, some of the old-timers will point out that they've heard it all before and that there is no substance behind the claims. Hocus takes on the role of battered and abused spiritual leader who is misunderstood and unjustly maligned.
4)More analytical, experienced posters will attempt to show the fallacy in hocus' claims. But hocus argues his own agenda and refuses to stick to a point. He rambles forever without ever addressing the key issues others bring up.
5)Next hocus will escalate by attacking intrcst and possibly a few others. These attacks turn into numerous, long rants that eventually turn the board against him. In the past, this has even led to his being banned from the boards.
6) Silence for awhile till people have forgotten his rants or new blood is on the board or he finds a new board.
7) go to 1).

You da man!
Thanks! And just in time for the site as one of the polls got linked from Diehards and I posted a comment pointing them here. You have done a great service.
By the time hocus finds his next target forum we'll have the master reference page complete and ready for the new victims.
Hoco shmoko passion blather
Quote: "He writes passionate descriptions..."
Uhm, no. I've never agreed with that description of hoco prose.
Zealous, yes. Convoluted to the point of losing all pointiness, thus endless repetition of same-old, same-old, yes. This may seem "passionate" to some.
I think of him as a flatulent zealot rather than a passionate person packing a punch.
But unlike any other zealot in known history, Hocus is so mush-brained and cowardly, he never stands up for his own stated cause. Instead, he incessantly tries to incite OTHERS to do it for him.
